ABOUT US

Atmospheric, friendly local pub with beer on tap, plentiful malts, artisan gins and live music every weekend.

The building itself stands proud at the junction of Buccleuch Street and Lothian Street; instantly recognisable by its timbered gable. Built in 1905 the Black Bull was originally a Gothenburgh public house affectionately referred to as ‘The Goth’.  This was a Swedish concept whereby the profits of the business were funnelled back into the local community to fund public amenities. Over the years it has evolved into what is now the Black Bull but retained its place in the hearts of the community.
